This modern farmhouse has room after room of whimsical flair. This newly retired couple wanted to enjoy the east of country living designed with a bit of modern charm. The owners had and extensive collection of different types of art that had to be considered, therefore, a series of niches and nooks, bookshelves and ship lap walls were designed in order to house the collections.

The high ceiling and warm wood trusses bring a cozy feel to the vaulted great room that has a clerestory to bring in as much natural light as possible. This is also complimented throughout the home with wood barn doors and the rustic loft in the guest quarters. The home is designed similar in concept to and old "Dog Trot" style home, with the guest wing being accessible through a covered outdoor living area. The loft concept was inspired by and old hayloft with the framing to remain exposed. The outdoor living allows guests to start a fire on cold days and enjoy the surroundings while still being able to close off the space from the cold winds that blow through with large barn doors outside. The homeowner wanted a sense of cozy to the home, from her personal study that is narrow but full of books and windows while she enjoys time to read. The master tub, snugly set in the corner with two windows, offers privacy but allows her to take in the amazing views outside. The master bath spa feeling screams modern but it's warm and comforting for everyday use. The use of apposing gables gives the structure architectural character and balance not normally seen in a modern farmhouse design. The changing plate heights allows character without the home being too busy. The barn doors create a sense of wonder to people passing by as they try to figure out what is behind those doors. The windows bring in warm and welcome natural light to a modern and clean space.

This home was designed with one purpose. To see the lake and the hills!

Due to the restrictions, the front door had to face the street and the issue with that, is the lake view was to the left side of the house. It needed to also have access to the back yard for the client's children to play and the clients to enjoy pool time. Also, while being able to see the lake and the surrounding long views. The high vaulted ceiling in the great room immediately opens the home up and invites you in. The simple clean finishes keep the house minimalistic, but whimsical at the same time. The owners wanted a big and open feeling but were strict on the size and this 3373 sq ft home feels twice as big as it is. The ability to walk through the mud room to access the front or back half of the house also makes the home convenient to live in. The master suite is split from the main house to allow the owners privacy while also being able to take in the beautiful views.

This unique transitional home truly encompasses the word. It's a transition from modern and clean to rustic and warm all in one home.

Situated on the golf course, these avid golfers wanted the big view of their favorite pastime. The warm, welcoming, and whimsical courtyard leads you to the front door. upon entering, you immediately see the double-sided fireplace. Peeking through you get a tiny tease of what you will see on the other side. Walking around the fireplace and into the great room, you are flooded with light and an amazing view of the surrounding countryside and the golf course. The open floor plan allows this family to entertain from the great room, kitchen, dining, den and back patio with minimal obstructions. With back yard kitchen, fire pit and a lot of lounging space, it's the perfect place to take in the most amazing sunsets.

The clients really wanted to warm the home to have a cozy feeling. To do that, hand hewn beams and trusses were installed in the great room, dining room, entry, and master bedroom. The use of trusses and the tongue and groove ceiling in the great room allowed for a seamless transition inside to out with the feel of the space. We also used beams as structural headers where we needed them to divide the spaces. It allowed the open concept to feel like it still had individual rooms without breaking up the line of sight. The biggest challenge with this home was the drop in grade and accessing the back yard for fun time on the putting green. The terraced landscape created a winding staircase to the back yard, filled with native plants and softening the hardscape. This is a subtle compliment to the surrounding area and really accents the put and play area.

This home was designed for a growing family while considering an aging parent. Designed as a sprawling home with an in-law suite it has a modern feel and finish and still feels cozy being under 7,227 sq ft of roof.

This modern farmhouse style home sits on a hill with long views that the client required to be an important part of the natural art of the home. Bringing the outside in, the family spends a lot of time entertaining and needed the home to be cohesive to their lifestyle. The back yard has a family sized pool, outdoor kitchen, seating areas and a putting green. The media room and bar area are a fantastic compliment to the clients want to entertain. The contemporary design required clean lines throughout the home, but the soft touches of arches and groin vault ceilings warms the decor and creates an inviting atmosphere. The kitchen is the hub to daily life, but the clutter of everyday living is neatly tucked away in the hidden pantry just beyond cabinet doors. The high ceilings in the main living areas give the home an open feeling and the multitude of windows keeps it comforting. Each bedroom has its own unique finish treatment and style specific to each member's taste. The clean and minimal landscaping is the perfect complement to this showcase home.

This home was designed for a family preparing for an empty nest and retirement. The home was actually designed backward to capture the amazing views from every part of the home. The rear of the home faces the street view requiring the home to be designed with two front elevations. The homeowners were inspired by a European and Modern façade and wanted to bathe the home in natural light. The homeowners own a landscape company, so it was important to them to bring the outside in and make the landscape part of their home. In order to facilitate that, we had to address the issue of having many windows. To make this happen, we have a steel structure frame in which parts of the structure were left exposed in the great room and warmed up with a wood ceiling. The use of a steel and wood open staircase in the foyer allowed us to open up the wall with windows to capture the breath-taking view immediately upon entering the home. The multiuse butler’s pantry is a congregation space for their teenage daughter and her friends, discussing life and their dreams while catching a quick snack. With a refrigerator, a sink and a counter full of easily accessible appliances, this is a perfect hang out space. The master bath was designed to create a spa like feel and still allow natural light and bringing the outside in while maintaining privacy from the neighbors. The natural vegetation around the master ensuite provided the perfect canvas to accommodate this request.
